First things first!!! Congrats on the residency!!!! YAASSSS!! I know the ancestors are SO elated!! And as far as the shift? Yes, been felt it and I agree with that whole caption of it taking 1/2 my life to truly innerstand me! It's a beautiful shift, many weights lifted, and more freedom to just B E ME!! Unapologetically and sometimes, respectfully!
I’m so glad you felt seen by my work, Jacquie. That’s honestly why I do most of what I do. Too many of us, who have been conditioned to do it all with a smile on our face, are saying no more and folks is pissed. Oh well, not our problem. I wish for more Black women (and Black people in general) to exercise boundaries as a means to keep ourselves whole. We must do this work 😌

The transition from a kitchen-table operation to a full-scale publishing house in Oakland is a masterclass in sovereign growth. You’re out here movin' beyond the digital masquerade to build a physical third space where our stories can actually breathe in print. It’s a clinical look at how the mission to preserve the legacy requires a foundation you can actually touch. Most people are out here tryna buy the cloud, but you’re layin' the bricks and settin' up the machines to ensure our history doesn't just evaporate. This ARTogether residency is just the blueprint for a total takeover. Real work.💪🏾✊🏾
