BlackStack x Temi Coker Giveaway
BlackStack is two months old and I wanted to do something special to say thank you and Temi agreed to gift BlackStack on of his exclusive scarves for this giveaway!
I'm super excited to announce the first-ever BlackStack collaboration giveaway, how cool is this y'all!?
This wasn’t something that was planned or curated exclusively for BlackStack, but it was the perfect opportunity to bring something cool to the community.
posted his scarf and I commented, nothing unusual for how most creations brought to BlackStack are birthed.Temi and I decided to let this one sit in the drafts to curate on its own rather than try and force it. Things tend to work out best that way, kind of like the creation of this scarf and how it was reserved for the right time.

I just want to give back to the community, so this is one way I know how by collaborating with a Black business to bring awareness to their brand/business to this Black community that then provides the resources I wanted to be able to offer y’all. It’s a win for everyone, so please don’t let this be the last giveaway especially if you provide a service or product that is for our community.
Because I love a good inspirational story to go with creations I asked Temi to share his inspiration behind his art and this is what he had to share.
I wanted my creation to tell a story.
I was born in Lagos, Nigeria, deeply rooted in the Yoruba culture, a vibrant and colorful world where our celebrations were always filled with life. One of the most cherished aspects of our culture is the traditional ashoke fabric. Ashoke is a handwoven cloth, often made from silk and cotton, characterized by its intricate patterns and bold, rich colors. It's worn during significant events like weddings, festivals, and other important gatherings. Each piece of ashoke is unique, with different colors, textures, and patterns that come together to tell a story—when you zoom out, there’s this beautiful unity and harmony of colors. These memories are woven into everything I create today.
When I designed this scarf, I wanted to capture that same feeling of unity through colors and patterns, something that tells a story and sparks conversation. I wanted it to be more than just an accessory; I wanted it to make people feel confident in their own skin.
My hope is that when you wear this scarf, it feels like an extension of the beauty already within you—something that complements and highlights your essence, especially the beauty of our Black skin. Our Black skin is a beautiful canvas, and these designs are just accents, enhancing that natural brilliance.
I’m excited to partner with Black Stack to give away this scarf and to share a little piece of my story, culture, and vision with you all. I hope it inspires you to feel empowered and bold whenever you wear it.
