I read this after posting new work today for the first time in a few weeks. It’s like you saw into my soul! Thank you for this gorgeous piece! 🥰

Joy, I was taking a break from shaking when I saw your post notification. I was so happy I paused to read because it reminded me of how much better my writing for Blackstack is when I read community members work. We are all navigating some of the same things so it’s a beautiful reflection to finish the piece. And thank you sooooo much for your support!

This was such a good analogy for the writing process. Now I want to try my hand at making butter!

Thank you so much! Writing and cooking the other day, running out of butter then making some in the middle of the process made me take a step back and recognize the patterns. That’s the joy of it all right? And post a picture when you make some, you thinking about making a compound or keeping it simple?

I love this analogy of buttermilk and the different unseen actions that take place to reach the final product in both butter making and the writing process. Rest is a large part of creativity and attention must be paid. Thank you for this perspective ❤️ I’ll carry it with me when I find myself trying to rush this writing sh*t ☺️

I knew the spiritual girlies would understand on a soul level, because writing is truly soul work. I’m so happy this will be carried with you as a gentle reminder to rest in between the shakes if you don’t see that buttermilk yet.

Summer semester ended yesterday and I am beat😪 My plan for today was to do absolutely nothing...but now you've got me thinking about making my grandma's pan fried cornbread.
