So I gathered some visuals so you could see what I had in my minds eye. I’ll message them to you. When I say posters, I mean placing words/phrases curated by BlackStack on designs or photographed work that matched the BlackStack vibe. Think graphic design, photography, and typography.
I'm glad it was received so well, but it's been on my mind for a couple of weeks and it just flowed. I love a good update so I'm excited to share more!
I went to Mickalene Thomas’s artist talk last month and she mentioned how Black magazines are a dying art. She sourced many of her images for collages from Jet Magazine (RIP!) and she talked about how these magazines were integral for capturing the full zeitgeist of Black culture and people in one place. I’m so glad we’re bringing this back!
