Last Sunday, Sisten Karen asked about food being serviced in the basement and somebody tried to start a food fight but Brother Ason finished it. Today after service we will have light refreshments...
This is the place where our authentic selves are meant to thrive unapologetically & it’s a honor to share this space with you. Thank you for lending us your authentic voice to speak to this week’s congregation! 🙌🏾✊🏾
I call it reparations; Uncle Sam taking a detour through Harlem; childlike curiosity and eagerness; prayer for healing, growth, and engagement…good read this Sunday morning!
Heavy on the LIVING artists! Yet we ARE ageless and ever evolving. Touching hands and agreeing on the prayer for this community. Reparations indeed. *thank you for the shoutout 🥰*
Always Yanique, thank you for stopping by again and fellowshipping with us! I look forward to working with you soon on your hair story but until then I will see you on Sunday at the Writer’s Circle!
I love the idea in "I call it reparation" and the journey to unravel the discriminations Black Africans went through on their quest for freedom and the juxtaposition with Sunday service blended with great black American heroes with Frederick Douglas, make this article a great read. You are a great writer and love your idea in women liberation... Keep it up and BE FREE.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting your thoughts on the newsletter! Every Sunday we release a new Sunday Service Announcements newsletter with Black writers…we call it reparations! We will be looking for you next Sunday at service!
I’m late, but I’m a just start commenting section by section. Jacquie‘s first section: I am returning to my grandmother‘s house after two years in Guatemala. I’m gonna call this period of time my reparations. I now have two brand new jobs that I’m super excited about plus all this writing. This is it.
I love this for you! It's funny I was just on your page grabbing the link to your story about being in Guatemala and it seems like that wasn't a move you were super excited to make at one point so I am happy that you are stepping into your season of Congratulations!
I try to get to the beach or near some body of water at least once a day, it is huge for centering grounding 🌊 Thank you for sharing this and thank you Blackstack for creating this space!
I just came back to Wrightsville Beach! It was my third time and one of the locals told the story of how it used to be a black beach and a black owned hotel. It’s so beautiful
Thank you for the opportunity!! & for allowing me to be my authentic self. BX ALL DAY 🙅🏾♀️🙅🏾♀️🗽🗽

You are absolutely correct. I’m on a real intense emotional journey about it all
@Karen Wesley gave me this advice and I’ve affirmed myself daily since.
