Wow what a powerful offering this was!!! The prayers at the end…. EVERYTHING! Every single line resonated. Great job gang! And as always I’ll be looking out for the next one 😋🙌🏾
Thoroughly enjoyed😌 my praying grandmother is the matriarch of our family she has ushered in miracles and protection over our family with diligence ~ so grateful for her presence and example. Awww Karens poems😍 so beautiful I loved the pictures too!! I’m excited to hear more relationship guidance. And this sounds of blackness playlist is hitting this Sunday morning 🎶 I affirm those prayers for the community and beyond✨
Great issue! Just enjoyed my toast and coffee while reading. I never knew any of my grandmothers but I know there are some grandmas beginning their days tarrying (as they say in COGIC) for their loved ones.
Those poems were WONDERFUL, Karen Wesley!
I'm already following Dr. April--I am single but like reading about peoples' relationship problems and how they resolve them. They may or may not inspire a conflict in a novel.
I love love LOVE the name Paisley! I am also a PK. Daddy is an elder and Moms is a Minister. I know the life!
One of my all time favorite phrases from my maternal grandma is "don't tarry!" because she used to do everything in a hurry... including putting on her church suits and matching hats.❤️
I’m telling you DL, last night after I scheduled the post I messaged Karen to let her know those poems were TOP TIER! I mean I had goosebumps reading them. And the same for Paisley I was glued to the screen reading her section while editing the draft. But Dr. April really shocked me by the way she was able to creatively tie church judgments and myths into her section to bring up her publication topic. These ladies really stretched the box for SSA and I’m excited to see how the upcoming weeks continue to develop, this series is so healing in so many ways!
At the end. Perfection. You are doing God’s work!
Now this I’m going to receive because that’s the path I’m on to do the Lord’s work! Amen! 🙏🏾
Jacquie! How you pulled that together! The pictures. The prayer at
Karen!!! Ah stop it!!! Thank you!!! ☺️

Yes I was immediately transported. Such great imagery and I felt the love and care going into every word. The blues have a different meaning!
